You’ll play the 5 highest rated golf courses in South Africa and have the chance to spot the Big 5 in a single day at the end of your trip. You’ll fly between Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, and the Kruger Park in our private plane which bypasses lengthy airport check-ins and maximizes your time on the course and enjoying our beautiful country. We’ll play 5 rounds of golf over 8 days, at Fancourt (both courses), Durban Country Club, Sun City, and Leopard Creek. You’ll be accompanied by our PGA Golf Pro every step of the way for pre-round briefings and 1-to-1 coaching, should you wish. There is simply no other escorted golf tour like this in Africa.

Fancourt Leisure Resort, Garden Route

Fancourt, South Africa’s premier leisure resort is situated in the heart of the Garden Route. We have the choice of three Gary Player designed golf courses all ranked in the Top 15 in South Africa.

The first rounds we play are both at Fancourt on The Links and The Montagu. Both courses were designed by golf legend Gary Player and have earned a world class reputation as South African icons in their own right. The Links course is only available to its members and guests staying at the Fancourt Manor House, where we’ll be based during our time in the Western Cape.

A day-trip to Durban in style

Durban Country Club, KwaZulu-Natal

After an early start we land nearby at a private airport which gets us on the course early and enjoying the wonderful sea views. Rated one of the Top 100 Golf courses in the World, The Durban Country Club offers an unparalleled golfing experience, catering to golf enthusiasts and professionals. Overlooking the Indian Ocean, DCC has hosted the South African Open 17 times, including the centenary SA Open in 2010, more than any other club in South Africa. After an early dinner and wine pairing at the clubhouse we head back to our private plane and take off heading north for the second half of the Big 5 Golf Challenge.

The adventurous golfer’s paradise

Leopard Creek Country Club, Mpumalanga

Bordering the southern edge of the Kruger National Park in the heart of Mpumalanga, you’ll find one of the ultimate combinations of exclusivity, luxury and skill – Leopard Creek. This 360-hectare golfing development has made excellent use of the natural environment to ensure a unique, African bushveld golfing experience. The 13th hole is regarded as one of the country’s most memorable holes. Its sweeping green reaches right onto the banks of the Crocodile River at 32 metres above water-level. Golfers gracing this prestigious course laud the incredible views that extend up the river, entering the famous Kruger Park. 

Take on Gary Player for the greatest challenge

Gary Player Country Club, Sun City

Built in an extinct volcanic crater, this immaculate golfing paradise conforms to the stringent US PGA specifications and was named South Africa’s Best Golf Course in the World Golf Awards 2015. It is also home to the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge which plays host to some of the world’s golfing legends.

It’s also here where the Big 5 Golf Challenge ends and all guests are provided transfers to Johannesburg. Although, should you wish to carry on the adventure with us we can also arrange the next portion of your South African tour.
