What to look forward to

The Big 5 Golf Challenge is our signature luxury golf tour that delivers the finest golfing experiences South Africa has to offer including access to the highest rated golf courses in the country. Our tour begins with the mangrove-lined fairways of KwaZulu-Natal and takes you on to the Western Cape, and Gauteng ending at the luxurious Kruger Park's Leopard Creek. We’ll play 5 rounds of golf in total over 13 days, including Fancourt (both courses), Durban Country Club, Sun City, and Leopard Creek. You’ll be accompanied by our PGA Golf Pro every step of the way for pre-round briefings and 1-on-1 coaching should you wish. Over and above the golfing, you are invited to join planned excursions to Table Mountain, Big-5 safaris, exclusive wine tasting and more. For the discerning sports-traveler, there is little more to wish for.

A 5-star award-winning beach hotel offers everything you could wish for and a dedicated team offering a world-class service. Enjoy a multitude of dining options, including their famous curry feast, or indulge in their award-winning spa amid tropical gardens. Upon arrival in Durban you'll have time to settle in and freshen up before enjoying dinner together as a group and hold our tour briefing.

The morning of the second day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. After lunch, we’ll make our way to the local driving range to loosen our swings. From here, you can rent any equipment you need, service your current equipment or engage in optional coaching with our PGA Pro.

Durban Country Club, KwaZulu-Natal

The first round we play is at Durban's historic home of golf, the Durban Country Club. Rated one of the Top 100 Golf courses in the world, Durban Country Club offers an unparalleled golfing experience, catering to golf enthusiasts and professionals. Overlooking the Indian Ocean, DCC has hosted the South African Open 17 times (more than any other club in South Africa), including the centenary SA Open in 2010.

From Table Mountain to the Cape Winelands

We arrive in stunning Cape Town on the fourth day of our tour where we settle into our luxury accommodation for two nights. That same afternoon, weather permitting, we’ll scale Table Mountain to soak in one of the best views in Africa.

Day five is yours explore the Mother City as a group or by yourself. The next day we’ll set off at a leisurely pace for the Cape Winelands to experience a VIP food and wine pairing to savour local delights at a private vineyard, not open to the public. After lunch, we’ll take a transfer to Fancourt Leisure Resort on the Garden Route.

Fancourt, South Africa’s premier leisure resort, is situated in the heart of the Garden Route. We have the chance to play two Gary Player designed golf courses, both ranked in the Top 10 in South Africa. The Links course is only available to its members and guests staying at the Fancourt Manor House, where we’ll be based during our time in the Western Cape.

Gary Player Country Club, Sun City

Built in an extinct volcanic crater, this immaculate golfing paradise conforms to the stringent US PGA specifications and was named South Africa’s Best Golf Course in the World Golf Awards 2015. It is also home to the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge which plays host to some of the world’s golfing legends. During our short stay at Sun City, you’ll have the chance to enjoy an early morning safari game drive on our last day there.

Leopard Creek Country Club, Mpumalanga

Arriving via private plane, we’ll end our countrywide tour at the southern edge of the Kruger National Park in the heart of Mpumalanga. Leopard Creek - the ultimate combination of exclusivity, luxury and course design is situated on a 360-hectare golfing estate that made excellent use of the natural environment to ensure a unique, African bushveld golfing experience. The 13th hole is regarded as one of the country’s most memorable holes. Its sweeping green reaches right onto the banks of the Crocodile River at 32 metres above water-level.

We’ll hold our prize giving after dinner on the last evening on the tour, giving you the chance to look back on your highlights and plan your next luxury sporting adventure!

We end this once-in-a-lifetime tour with an early game drive through the Kruger National Park. Transfers to Johannesburg will be arranged and provided for you, although should you wish to carry on the adventure with us, we can also arrange the next portion of your South African tour.
