Tugela Tours specialises in luxury golf, safari, fly‑fishing and beach holidays, offering fully escorted experiences across South Africa.

Where is Tugela Tours based?

We’re based in the province of KwaZulu‑Natal, on South Africa’s east coast.

Who will accompany me on my tour?

Upon request, tours can include your own personal Tour Executive, a PGA‑qualified Golf Pro on golf itineraries, plus local expert guides and bush‑hardened game rangers.

How do I book a tour with Tugela Tours?

Can I customise my tour itinerary?

Yes — challenge us to create your perfect trip by combining any mix! Email tours@tugelatours.com for a bespoke quote.

What is included in my package?

All tours include: 5‑star (or rustic for fly‑fishing) accommodation, ground transfers, scheduled activities, selected meals, a personal Tour Executive and expert guides.

What is excluded from my package?

Standard exclusions include international and domestic flights (available on request), private fishing lessons, equipment hire (fishing), and alcoholic or soft drinks beyond those provided.

How do I confirm my booking?

After written confirmation and submission of our Booking Form, you’ll receive an invoice. Your booking is secured once the required deposit is paid.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made less than 90 days before the tour start date incur a fee no less than 50% of thr per‑person tour price; no refunds for any portion missed due to personal reasons. Dependent on itinerary bookings, cancellation fees may be up to 100% of your package rate.

Is cancellation insurance mandatory?

No but it is highly recommended as many of our accommodation partners will not refund cancellations in full, requiring us to pass the costs on to you.

Are international or domestic flights included?

Unless explicitly noted in the package fee, No — flights are not included but can be arranged on request.

What are the passport and visa requirements?

Clients must have passports valid for at least six months beyond return date, with three blank pages. Visas may be required for South Africa and Lesotho; please check with your local embassy.

Do I need any vaccinations or health precautions?

While we avoid high‑risk malaria areas, anti‑malarial precautions are recommended. Yellow Fever vaccination is not required for entering South Africa.

What is the maximum group size on a tour?

Each tour is capped at 32 guests to ensure an intimate, high‑quality experience.

What accommodation can I expect?

  • Fly fishing tour: rustic mountain lodges, often reachable only by 4×4
What meals and cuisine are provided?

All meals are tailored to your tastes — from bush dinners under the stars to Durban curry or premium steaks — with local wine pairings.

Can I combine different types of tours?

Absolutely — just let us know which mix of safari, golf, fly fishing and beach you’d like, and we’ll craft your custom itinerary.

What happens if the tour itinerary changes?

We reserve the right to amend excursions or departure dates but will always offer suitable alternatives.

What is your liability policy?

Tugela Tours does not accept liability for injury, loss or damage to personal belongings; all guests sign a waiver upon booking.

Do I need travel insurance?

Beyond compulsory cancellation cover, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical, baggage and trip interruption.

What payment schedule is required?

A deposit (as per your invoice) is due upon booking; the balance must be paid by the date specified on your confirmation invoice.

What if I miss a part of the tour?

There are no refunds for any portion of a tour missed due to personal reasons.

Are dietary preferences accommodated?

Yes — we tailor menus to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten‑free and other dietary requirements; just let us know in advance.

Do you operate year‑round or seasonally?

We run select escorted tours during our published dates, but we can design and operate custom itineraries 12 months a year on request.

Can I extend my tour or stay longer?

Yes — additional nights or extra activities can be arranged; please contact us with your preferred dates and requirements.

Do you offer special event or corporate tours?

We can tailor private events, incentive travel and corporate group tours — just ask for a bespoke proposal.
